Basic Information
The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum is one of the most important art museums in Vietnam, located at 66 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi. Established in 1966, the museum is a place to preserve, display and introduce typical works of Vietnamese art through many historical periods.
The museum’s collection includes more than 20,000 artifacts, from ancient art, communal house sculptures, ceramics, Dong Ho and Hang Trong folk paintings to modern works by famous artists such as Nguyen Gia Tri, To Ngoc Van, Bui Xuan Phai. In particular, the museum displays many rare works reflecting the life, culture and spirit of the Vietnamese people.
In 1966, the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum officially opened to visitors. The total area of the museum is now about 4,737m2, of which the exhibition area is over 3,000m2. In addition to the permanent exhibition space, the Museum has a Thematic Exhibition Space, a Creative Space for Children and a Food and Beverage Space. In addition to the main office on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, the Museum also has a second facility in Hoang Cau – O Cho Dua (Hanoi) with a large space, fully equipped and modern, used to preserve and restore works of art, as well as organize domestic and international scientific conferences.
